Boost Question....

Today I took my car for a good hammering as I was a bit bored.

The boost hit 1.2 bar in nearly every gear ( didn't try 5th ).

It shot straight to 1.2bar and stayed there for quiet a bit.... it would then slowly come back down ( when I was nearly reaching the rev limiter ).

Ok... as far as I was aware my car should only be hitting 1bar ( 15psi ). Or it was when I got the unichip fitted etc. Since then I've had a new clutch (won't affect anything), lightweight flywheel and an uprated actuator.

I've not had it remapped or anything since then. Is it safe hitting that boost level ? Why would it be also ??

could be the actuator ..

1.2 bar is pushing it a bit on the safety front ..

Mmmmm.... my car go boom soon?? ..... lol.

Wonder what it's pushing out then. It still has lots of flat spots and defo needs the remap.

yeah... but you have a rev3 with crazy innards do you not ??

I have a rev1 .... not so sure the innards/turbo should take that sorta boost.

Your flat spots could be that you're leaning out at the top end. Be careful!

Detonation if you're not careful mate. As long as your fuelling is sufficient at the top end, you should be 'OK'!

Get the re-map done mate. It'll cost you more if you don't... but then, like KiwiMR2 says, gives you an excuse to uprate everything!!! :)

makes sense about the flat spots due to fuelling mate.... Mmmmm.

Now I'm worried... :help:

Will organise the remap soon and also I won't boost it past 1bar for now.
