Ever since i saw redline rear lights on the back of a import AE86 i said 2 myself i gotta have me some of them! But at the time i didnt know they were so rare! Supposedly only fitted to a limited number of 1986 models, only availible in Japan!

So i searched every eBay site for every country for months and when i almost gave up searching a set turned up on eBay.com(but were for sale in Japan!)

They were damn expensive but i had to have them! So i put a rediculous max bid in so i made sure i won them!

Anyway i won them, paid the £200 quid for them  and they arrived about 10 days later, in mint condition i mite add!

Here they are!

Im pretty sure you can get them brand new from Toyota Main Dealers if you have a Trueno Chassis number to give them.

You need some Japanese style Number Plate lights ideally to finish it off, but the Redlines make a huge differance to the rear of the car. I bought some ages ago and stuck em on my first black levin, i couldnt believe the change it made!

B881 VYK: Yeah that wud be good mate if you got the chassis no. to hand, as i work for Toyota it would be easy for me to find out if the parts are still availble!

How do you mean matey??

English cars have the number plate illumination lights in the rear bumper, facing upwards.. Japanese cars have the lights to the left and right of the number plate, facing towards each other.. They go in the gaps in that centre panel, pretty sure you used to be able to order them from Toyota but i dont think you can anymore..

Here, you can see on mine:

Get some pics when you fitted em dude!

Ah i see what you mean now! I was thinking about doing that, and i think mk1 MR2 no. plate lights will fit in the gaps!

Your car looks so !Removed! awesome its unreal!:thumbsup:

I love them rims sitting right out in the arches!

Is that a safety devices cage you got in there??

Where abouts are you located in the UK??

One question ive always wanted to ask is, have jap import AE86's got a cable operated fuel flap, cuz ive neva seen one with an external lock like the english spec!!??

I'll take some piccy's of it next week when the lights are in!

Cheers buddy! :)

Thanks for the comments, Im located in North Staffordshire.. :)

The cage is a Saftey 21 Cage, not quite as comprehensive as the Safety Devices one but an easier and better fit from what ive gathered. Goes around the dash, same design as Cusco but Steel instead of Aluminium. It seems all Japanese cars have a cable operated boot and fuel flap, all the ones ive seen have. My old UK car had a cable operated Boot however, previous owner must of fitted it.

SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!

Who fits your tyres?? I wud love to know how they get the beading to seal when inflating the tyre!?? Do they use inner tubes or something!

I have a job trying to get 185 tyres to fit on 7" rims!!

Those lst piccys look very similar to some which were on this thread ages ago! But it was a Black '86 wiv gold rims! Was that urs aswell?????

Its just that i reconise that building in the back round saying something like 'look or lock' on it!!

Heh, the black Levin was mine too. :)

My good friends at the local tyre shop do my tyres, no inner tubes just a scary bead blaster. Blows serious PSI through them in one massive burst to seat em, no worries :) Some rims have a bigger bead seat than others also, which is something to consider when wrestling with tyres! hehe..

What ever happened to your levin then?? Was it a std 4AGE under the bonnet? What u runnin under your Treuno's bonnet? Supercharged??

Are you telling me that your tyres are fitted the same way as lorry tyres?? Holy Crap! lol! :)

Sold the black Levin at the start of the year sadly, engine was an early FWD Redtop 4AG with higher compression pistons. Was being the word, it blew up about a month ago now... The Trueno did have a Redtop Bottom end with Blue Top head but i blew that one up. Stuck a new early FWD Redtop in one saturday so thats what its running at the moment, with basic bolt on mods... Nothing special. :)

Bead blasters are serious fun dude! ;) However the other day, my tyre guy fitted a 185 onto a 9j rim with his hands and normal compressed air alone...

Im supprised, i thought you mad drifting lot would have stupid amounts of power, like your mate Jay!

But there is nothing wrong wiv a std 4AGE, if you have seen my post on hear, there is results of my rolling road test! 128bhp and 101 @ the wheels!

How are you able to blow so many 4AGE's! My '86 has had a hard life of sitting on the limiter through the gears and whilst doing donuts and sideways, but only ever had a headgasket go! thats it! :)

I wud like to meet your tyre guy and shake his hand! Fair !Removed! play! Rock on!

I wouldn't say I have loads of power not yet anyway :D

Bring on the Rotary

Rotaries are for Mazda mates. The great equaliser is forced induction. I am using in my 1985 SR5 a 4AGZE engine fully balanced with ARP rod bolts and head studs, 7LB aluminium flywheel, JE pistons, port and polished head, HKS 272 exhaust camshaft, Crane HI6 ignition with Magnecor wires and Haltech E6S stand alone computer, Mitsubishi 25G turbocharger with front mount intercooler, '81 Celica/Supra rear end, '85 Supra transmission, polyeurethane bushes in the four link bars, coilovers up front with KYB inserts. With this configuration 300bhp at the wheels is easily attainable. This is a work in progress and currently breaking in the engine. Once I have the car on the dyno I will email the results, cheers.
