Has anyone fitted a "Power Boost Valve" to thier NA???

Whats your opinion?? did it improve the response on the bottom end like it states it does???

Any info would be gratefully received.

Dont tell me you've never heard of one of them.

It's an expensive gimik for n/a's.

they "claim" it put's more fuel through the injectors, hence more power

sadly i bought one for my pug (when it was standard) thinking it would do what it say's on the tin.

but when i put my car on the rollers I was missing 8bhp,

so i took the pbv off and "hey presto" i found my missing 8bhp :hokus-pokus:

Power boost valve is an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and to get it set up properly you need to get it done on a rolling road with all the gizmos to ensure your're not starving your engine of fuel

Yeah, all it does is increases the pressure of the fuel in the injector rail. Theoretically more fuel might get through but the engine management system would probably detect the extra fuel and reduce the length of the injector pulse. Basically I wouldn't have thought you would nitice much difference.

all these gizmo's are cancelled out over time to a learning ECU ..

you think you are adding more fuel, and for a time you are, then the car learns and thins it off again ..

Have one sat in my garage and haven't had time/inclination to fit it yet.

I imagine it would help if you don't have an ECU that will react to the mixture (ie no O2 sensor on the exhaust). You do need to get a fuel pressure gauge as well, as they don't come set at the optimum pressure so you may end up reducing the pressure in your fuel rail (another reason I haven't fitted mine).
