Active / Passive Sound System?

what is it i hear about a passive or active sound system?? how will i tell the difference?

one has Toyota amps, the other doesn't ..

It's all about the "premium" (don't make me laugh) sound system that was available on the '2 ..

Its an active sound system.

It will have two small amps in the side panel behind the passenger seat

and either one or two subs in the boxes behind the seats,

depending on what revision the car is

i have none! i can only get inside one box thats the drivers one..so i dont have active then! lol

Is there a grill on the front of the passenger side one?

Also a bit of force will lift the lid on the passenger side one mate, its held down by 3 plastic clips

lol nope it was just a bit stiff...empty!! the last owner had'nt even forgot to leave anything inside!

i just got the stock 6 speaker set up

It says 'Active Live Sound' or something like that.. I'm gonna rip mine out when I fit my sub!

You can use the box the keep stuff in..lol.

yeah i did have a few bottles of my aftershave in there...but after went round first corner with the bottles crashing around inside i thought that was not the best of ideas!!! lol!!! now i sound like a right tart! :!Removed!:
