hi to all. i need a head for my paseo 96 engine 5E-FE. i have an head but missing little bits little the valve buckets or tops, the end covers for the cam, the bridges to hold the cam in place, and a pulley! or does anyone know where i can find a company that do vernier pulleys. :help:

Usually you shouldn't take cam bridges from another head. Camshaft journals are line bored and have to be kept with their matching caps.

oh :censor: !!!!!!!!!!!!!! <_< i just remember that

there arent any for the paseo engine. aem USED to make some, but i mean, its been discussed i think on this forum as well, adjustable vernier pulleys on a paseo are useless as any change to the intake timing is replicated in the exhaust timing as theyre joined by sum fancy butterfly arrangement thingy, i dunno

The intake and the exhaust cams are geared together, so its awkward to adjust the overlap, but not impossible.

I have several 5E-FHE heads including valve buckets if required, but no 5E-FHE cams.

i could do with the 5e-fe head as my cams were sent to kent cams who reground them, i believe. i see what you will the single pully running two cams didn't think!

You could use a EP91 4E-FTE head on your '96 Paseo.

Flows better.

could i still use the same cams or not. how much work is need to fit the 4e-fte head.

yeh, coz isnt the 4e-fte twin cam, so would have a different head profiling??

and bakewell, when u get ur cams back could u tell me wat theyre like? possibly any power improvements and stuff :afro:

Can you provide proof that a 4E-FTE head flows better than the 5E-FHE / 5E-FE head.

the 4E-FE, 5E-FE and 5E-FHE are all twin cam engines...

o rite, sorry, thot the 5efe was single cam  :!Removed!:

i could not tell you if it going better as i have never driven the car stock, got it in bits so i will have to see agains another seo or something! i really want the car running, its like beening a little kid waiting for christmas!

d'oh, well how does it run with the reground camshaft, like is the idle uneven, or is the power delivery peaky etc etc...

the paseo is a rolling Shell and the engine is stripped to the block, i am rebuilding it so all bearings are new etc.
