That would be a good idea.

And if its been raining,

feel the seats and the carpet just behind them to see if they are damp

Defo looks worth a look

Isn't it a family car then? Won't kids fit in the back seat? It's a 2+2 isn't it?

There's no pictures of the inside of the car!!! (not stating the obvious here!!)

The thing is... i dont care how good the outside of the car is, i wouldnt touch it if the inside were minging!!!

BUT, if there in good condition, and with the look of the outside of the car, oh and the engine's in good nick then, yep - good car!!

Go down, have a look, take it for a drive then up to you.

Good luck

Check under the oil cap for milky residues. (head gasket)

Listen for a change in sound when depressing the clutch (thrust bearing)

And then just the usual, leaks under the car / state of steering wheel and gearknob / body panels equal distances apart etc.

Cheers.

Are there any 2 specific bits and pieces which are common faults?

Make sure you boot the car as well. I don't mean boot a dent in the side of it. On the test drive, ask the owner if you can push it a bit - it's a sports car, it's engineered to handle high performance. If the owner says no, there maybe a problem. If they are uncomfortable about the situation, swap seats and ask them to put their foot down a bit. If they say no, suspect something, they wouldn't of bought a sportscar if they weren't going to see what it can do once in a while.
