i need a life but here goes. There are quite a few flavors of the 3S engines. To name the most common: the 3S-GE and 3S-GTE. These engines came in a few Celicas and the second generation MR2 (SW20/21). There are a good few differences between the gen 2 engine used in the celica and MR2 engine. if you need to know i can list them if you are going to use this engine

1st Generation (190 HP) 1988-89 celica ST165

2nd Generation(200 HP) 1990-93 celica ST185 and 1990-1999 MR2 SW20

3rd Generation (260 HP) 1994-99 celica ST205 :D :D :D

The GTE (turbo) was only a GT4 and MR2 thing .. from about 1999 onwards the 3S lump has not been blown .. it's all VVTi ..

Believe the Altezza & Caldina in Japan have the gen4 3S engine ..

TOMS built a few special edition Altezza's with a Turbo 3s-gte (albeit a TOMS conversion)
