Well... ive had the Echo for a bit over 2 years.... and the clutch is a slight bit spongy for various reasons --- some of you would of seen why.

Just wondering if putting in a new clutche in a FWD such as the echo involved a engine out job or not? Any idea on the costs of replacing the clutch in the echo? Obviously installation will vary depending ont he labour involved.

AND

What advantage does a lightened flywheel do?

What advantage does a lightened flywheel do?

Can't help u with the 1st part but a lightened flywheel should give u better accelaration but u will lose speed quicker going up hills etc! I think it makes it a little less driveable around town also!

Hi Sp33dY,

The engine doesn't have to come out, but will have to be undone to be able to tilt it down to detach the gearbox from it and to take the gearbox out, bonnet, bottom panels, driveshafts, crossmember, starter motor and different wirings have to come off, nothing really difficult but quite time consuming.

As for flywheels, just don't have the original machined.

Might also be a good opportunity to fit an LSD. ;)

Cheers, Yves.
