If u have software ie tom tom and plugged into ur ipaq or pc or whatever aswell as having sufficient power to it it should work fine.

Oh make sure its in direct view of the sky so on ur dashboard.

PC isnt in the car at the mo, the light on the GPS mouse is on (means searching for a satalite) when its flashing then its locked on

I mouse is currently dangling out of the window, will leave it over night to see what happens

emule is like kazza, but should not use used to download illegal files, once installed use google to seach for "server.met" then simply install the servers, connect and enter that address I gave you

I have tried MS Autoroute 2005, Infomap 7 and a few others

its found the following satalites

23,13,20,04,16,25,01,24,27,06,17,30

but not locked on to them, and its got the date/time on the satalites

this info is from the GPS mouse, anyone know what it means?

Just buy a tablet PC does all this, is touch screen get it with blue tooth and you can use your phone/bluetooth GPS device using AutoRoute etc You could even mount extra 5" screen's in the headrest.

All you would need is a mounting bracket and it would be the same size as that monitor.

?

It's like a laptop but is just the screen and is touch screen, has an on-screen keyboard, others have a keyboard so you can use it like a laptop or swivel the screen round and fold it back ontop of the keyboard. Research Machines sell them, they sell kit mainly to schools but will sell to private buyers too.

www.rm.com i think ?

my ITX PC is much cheaper than a Tablet PC, wanted a OQO, just been released and it $1999

put the GPS mouse on by bros laptop and put the GPS mouse outside(is it water proof) and now it works

which GPS software has a spreed camera database

Whats the best way to send data from a car to the server, the data is only small (location of the car)

1 PC connects to a mobile phone on COM1 and send info to the server via WAP

2 Server dial up mobile phone in the car and requests the data

3 Something else

Tom tom 3 I have downloaded a speed camera database which displays them as Point Of interest. Then I have got a PoI warner which warns me when i am a certain distance from specific poi's.

The gps data shows everyone the location of house...

Tom tom is available for Pocket PC and palm operating systems aswell as a small version for some mobile phones.

The speed camera database and other software is excelent :D

But maybe you need to think about using another navigating programme for your in car pc.

sorry i didn't realise you you had a touch screen. The only real advantage is that you could take it out of the car easily and use it in other vehicles etc, also you could put in a 3G PCMCIA card for high speed internet and wirless device for accessing you home PC, you could also hook upto wireless access points at places like mcdonalds.

The tablet PC is just another option and it would make installation a little easier only trouble is they are so expensive.

the tablet PC has a fingerprint reconise, which is cool

just been testing Route 66, I like it its similar to MS Autorout but Route 66 shows you the house numbers on the map and it has loads of POI (on speed camera) it also has taffic updates via internet (or wifi via proxy on the car PC)
