Engine Types And Insurance Assessors

:help: Can anybody please confirm that an engine number beginning 1ZZ is 140bhp and 2ZZ is 190bhp? (We are talking about a 2001 VVTi).

Problem is when I bought it the geezer who sold it to me worked for the Toyota main dealer and stuck a 190 Badge on it! (Ostentatious or what!) Silly me scraped it down a wall and now the plonker of an insurance assessor is saying its a 190 and I'm underinsured!

Grateful for any help

Thanks

Thanks for that. Actually managed to convince the assessor today. Had to take the registration docs to Mr T to run a check on chassis and engine number. The car has now stood in the repair shop since 8.30a.m. Monday waiting for the insurance people to authorize the repairs! In the meantime its cost me 4 extra days car hire. Direct Line are great unless you have to claim. Their call centre is as useful as a chocolate fireguard

Cheers
