Hey,

My son owns a Corolla T3 and when he accelerates a black/blue smoke comes out of the exhaust. The car has only done 6000 miles. Any ideas of what this might be.

Thanks

Paul

Burning oil means worn piston rings!

But surely not on a car with such low milage.

My Rolla GTI had only just started puffing a minute amount of blue smoke at 170,000 miles.

Something may be loose in the engine and letting oil in. Might be wise to take it to the dealer!!

There is lots of trouble with the Avensis VVT-i engines burning oil, in some cases as much as 1 litre every 1000 miles, since the Corolla also uses VVT-i engines it's possible that the rot has also spread over to them too.

  • 3 weeks later...

The blackish smoke only happens when i have the foot to the floor. would it be the extra petrol the injector is injecting into the engine causing the blackish smoke?

thanks for all the help so far

Paul
