I wonder if anyone could help me ... I have an estima emina.. where do I top my radiator water up .. or dont I? feeling a bit daft that I cant work this out myself. I have a copy of the owners manual but it doesnt mention it in there. It mentions replacing the cooling fluid but not topping anything up.

Heeeeeeeelp!! :-)

Thank you.

there should be a separate header tank for topping the fluids up, plastic bottle just like the 1 for the washers .

The header tank is under the bonnet to the left hand side. DO NOT USE normal water/anti-freeze. There is a special red Toyota coolant fluid which is expensive but in my opinion worth it for a number of reasons but mainly because these vehicles rely heavily on the cooling system and anything other than the correct fluid could cause major damage over time.

If it needs topping up or you are loosing fluid then get it checked out as you should NEVER need to top them up.

I have heard many a horror story of people cracking heads and blowing head gaskets through using the wrong coolant or not keeping an eye on levels and detecting there is a problem.

Don't mean to worry you but you need to consider this.

Thank you for that  ... I believe I have found the tank you reffered to :-) .. I dont think I have anything to worry about just yet but after many years of smaller family cars, that needed the radiators topping every so often, I was getting a little paranoid that I should be doing something ... thanx again Gareth B :-)
