Just to let you lot know ive just finished my 4efte engine conversion in my gen 2 paseo! just been for a spin up the road and it is fast so i am pleased! yep yep!!!!!!!!!!!!

i had jb motorsport do the wiring in the end as i got abit lost with it all. the starlet and the gen 2 paseo do not share any resemblence at all when it comes to the wiring. i would not reccomend tackeling this if any one else was planning to do the conv, as it is a pain in the *****! new looms and plugs needed to be wired up and was just a nightmare.

engine mounts where different so needed to be changed over. only found this out once it was hanging on the hoist in possition.

had abit of a panic the first time as when i pulled away it had alot of power and then just died on me. took it back in the garage and took the tubing off and i found a ball of tissue paper in the induction pipe. not good! now it goes alot better!

anywayz ill post some pics when its been cleaned.

matt

ps. yes now ive got the first gen 2 PASEO GT TURBO in the uk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done mate. I e-mailed jb motorsport about 1. Did you get the front cut or just the engine ect.?

Well done. Glad you're pleased.

Paseos must be a slightly more distant relation of the Starlet than the Sera is. Same engine mounts and same wiring.

If you haven't got one, get a boost gauge. Useful things to have. Not only does it look good, its useful for diagnosing problems.

Using Toyotas current naming conventions it would be a Paseo T-Sport

well done mate!, you gonna get it dyno tested?, would love to see what your getting at the wheels, especially wiv that FMI.

RE- Your problems with wiring, does that mean an ecu from 4e-fte wont fit paseo loom??

what have you done with your 5e-fe?

once again well done, are you gonna take santa pod or summin, to lay down some quarter mile times??

HI, thanks i am very pleased its all working now, just want to go and drive it all the time! i got the whole front cut from jb motorsport, it comes in a huge wooden box. took about 4 weeks to get here from Melaysia.

Yes i think it is abit different than the sera and starlet. but if you can do it it is very worth while. it is like you said Andrew, transforms the car completely!

i have just bought a auto gauge boost gauge, which matches the white background, green digits and orange pointer the same as the paseo. bought from www.a1motormadness.co.uk for £20. interesting to see what it is boosting at.

Paseo T sport sounds good!!!

Once i have run it in, i am going to get it on a rolling road to see what its like, i havent pluged my HKS PFC F-CON in yet, so should be even quicker soon!

The ecu wont fit the paseo loom or fuse box. we used the 4e engine loom and traced each wire through using the 5e loom. it had to be completely re-wired, has just taken about 2 weeks to get done, but as i said befor, i gave up with the wiring and left the electrical side to jbmotorsport.

My 5e-fe engine is sat on my garage floor at the moment. the big end went on it just befor i did the conversion. may try to sell it for spares as a whole.

Deffinately santa pod and deffinately JAE next year.

OH yea, i deffinately recomend toyo proxe T1-S tyres, just been out in the rain and the grip is amazing!

 THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYONES HELP WHILST DOING MY CAR

I cant stop going out in my car!!!!

NOT finished yet, it is just the beginning!

just had abit of a burn up with a BMW 330ci and left him behind! made me smile! dont think he did tho!

oli, i wana to do sum thin with the styling on my car, but every time i get some money together i buy more performance parts, need to stop that! what mag you gona be featured in then? might send something to japanese performace and see if they want to feature my car some when in the future.

matt

I wouldn't got OTT on exterior mods. Keep it discreet and work out sensible performance mods.

Wait until it's finished before you send anything, any mag that promises a feature before the car's finished isn't worth getting in to *cough* Max Power *cough*...

I agree about the styling, keep it simple rather than OTT colour scheme's, huge kits and graphics.

dont think i will go ott on the styling. there arn't that many kits out there and most will just add weight anyway. may try and get hold of the booster kit if they still make it. any one know if they do and where you can get it? need to do something with the suspension now i think. may be koni adjustable.

Dont think i would want it in max power! not with all tho's novas and escorts!

Yea guessed that much!

I think Envy or Funky Product can sort you out with a Booster kit.

I don't think you need a kit at all. If that 'Seo in your avatar is yours, then I think it look pretty good from the front, maybe if you could make it, a chrome edging for the intercooler vent. I'd consider painting the intercooler end tanks black as well, but thats just personal opinion.

I was following a black 'Seo yesterday and this was a first. I've seen them at shows, but normally I'm standing up rather than sitting down, so the difference in perspective was quite pronounced.

I think that a sleeper 'Seo needs a slightly more pronounced rear wing, not by much, and possibly a set of mild skirts, just to put a bit of shape into the sides.

hi, yea that is a pic of my car as my avatar, does look quite smart there i thought!

it is quite good looking relatively standard but just having all the power.

ive spent about £8000 including the purchace of the car for £3600 2 years ago.

Bakewell, yes i do have the old engine and i will sell it to you if you want, but i think the bottom end has gone on it. the gear box and head are all there if you want it. i would like to get rid of it as a whole if i can. give me an email if you are still interested. my adress is mwilliamsuk2000@yahoo.co.uk
