I have '96 71K Tacoma V6 4WD bought new (and still looks like one). Complete stock. No complains, evrything is working perfectly. Changing oil, filters regularly. No dealer maintenace.

Yesterday, when I was driving back from work "Check Engine" warning came off. Everything was normal. I never had this with all Toyotas I have had in the past and I was surprised.

Before I bring it to dealer, I would like to troubleshooting myself. I know it sounds crazy, but if you veterans have any suggestions, I would like to know.

Thank you in advance.

IMO it is the O2 sensor. I had the same thing in my 4Runner. Just make sure that is what it is and which one it is before you go buy one. These little things are expensive!
