my ae82 gt idles by itself when i start up the car

y does it do this?

is there a way i can stop this?

also how do you get rid of bumper scuffs.

??? disconnect the choke. its supposed to idle up for 7mins max or until temp is reached !?

It should idle by itself. It's got an automatic choke hasn't it? It should idle at 800ish rpm.

Only way to get rid of bumper scuffs (as in not gone through to the bumper plastic) is to some stuff from Halfords (Can't remember the name) to take the top layer of pait off! It works as a kind of exfoliant!

When the car is first started it will idle very high (around 1500rpm) for about 10 mins maybe less if warm weather, maybe a bit longer if cold weather. After 10 or mins it should drop down to around 800rpm. I would have thought someone who has had a number of corolla would have known this...

Stuff to use to remove scuffs is called T-Cut. Can get it from Halfords.
