Newbie Here With Some Quesions About His New Car

Hi every1, Thought i'd join here cos i bought a 1989 corolla 1.3 GL last night.

No offence intended but i've got a Fiesta thats my baby and i needed another car to run about in, so i went and bought a cheap corolla.

its the 1.3 12v and i gotta say i'm pretty impressed with it so far, was dreading the thought of a 1.3 but its not to bad. :)

Only problem it has at the moment is it doesnt like starting from cold, it does 1st time if u hold the accelerator down, but then it idles reeeaaaaaly low and lumpy, i'm thinkin it just needs a really good service. As i'm new to corolla's, it has an automatic choke but is this easy to adjust to sort out the idling? Its fine once its warmed up by the way.

I'd like to give it a full on service, change the oil, oil filer, sparks and flush out the coolant system and re-fill it with fresh stuff.

So my question is, how?

Is there and would i need to replace the gasket on the sump plug?

How can i avoid getting air locks in the cooling system if i flush it out?

Oh and btw i'm a member of another forum called fiestaturbo if any1 knows it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

T.K

Firstly, Welcome!

To start it you have to put your foot on the accelerator once...

Just a tap, then it'll start straight off (providing everythings hunky dorey :) )

Great little cars, handle well & go on forever!

Sorry I can't help on your other questions, but I'm sure everyone else with an AE92 can
