i want 17inch alloys i was looking on envy performance and when i was looking at the size they got 17 x 7, 17 x 8 ,17 x 9

whats the 9,8,7 for?

thats the width of the wheels mate, in inches.

whats the best set up? do i have to have a wider rims for the rear for the wider tyres?

yeah wider tyres is always good, ive just got 8" all round tho, with 245/45`s at the rear and 225/35`s at the front.(thats the width and depth of the actual tyres in mm).

ideally you want something like 8 or 9 on the back and 7 or 7.5 front.

8's on the front was a bit much on my 18's and i used to get understeer a lot
