ok eat this...rx-7 with a 3sgte swap.....my ultimate car!...now I just need oooh lets see...a £gizillion?...hmm :(

that would totally ruin the car

think NSX handling with more power thena supra TT and your close...

then thing ford build quality and H1 hummer fuel consuption...... to balance out this "too good to be true" story!

I'm totally gutted a made of mine had a late one.. the 260 bhp faclift version.. we had been pout in it all day.. he asked me if I wanted a go, but I'd had too much to drink :ffs: so he said no worries make it another time... unfortunately since then the fuel bills have got to him so he now has a !Removed! golf R34 :crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:

I wouldn't say it handles like an NSX,

Infact i'd say the MR2 out shines it in the cornering stakes and launches.

But then again i've only ever driven 3 Rex's.

If I was to have a serious play i'd might be able to correct their skittish rear ends a bit better.

The one in the pic is a RS which has most of the uprated parts.

I think it had 260bhp standard

So it's not Supra TT Power. But the RZ is 280bhp (I'm lead to believe)

When you consider how light those cars are; they really are pocket rockets. lol

.....And yes 12.8mpg so I'm told

you've still lost me?

obviously a Rex would be quicker than the supra.

But the actual BHP is all that I was mentioning?

yup... that what I mean, but I can;t be bothered to go into it.. one of those days/weeks/etc.

yup ..

J 666 BDB

(BDB are my initials) .. £250 from the DVLA ..

Was that from a DVLA auction?

still a good bargain I'd say

I had a similar experience following a WRX Sti the other day, now theres no doubt in my mind that it sticks to corners more than my mr2 ever could but the body was rolling everywhere!

Remember thogh, your talking about two difference build specs. The scoobie was built for the rally track and homogulated for the road to keep in the rally rules....plus gain a few sales from wanna be rally drives. The MR2 was built for the road by F1 engineers? the charactoristics of an F1 car and a rally car are at the other ends of the spectrum, but both undeniably do their job.

I agree.....going a step further Im convinced a MR2 or RX7 etc can handle just as well if not better than any of the 4wd cars like the rex or evo, just takes quite a bit more skill on the drivers part and the right combination of suspension upgrades :)

Cheers

The last time I raced at Silverstone there where a few R34's Evo 7's and STi's. and on average the Rwd where getting better lap times.

But... On a wet circuit, I'd know which of the two I'd prefer then. :D

I've never tried putting my tubby on a road rally stage.

But I really do doubt it would be able to tackle the twisties like the Pug 205 does.

But It certainly would be funny watching someone have a crack at it. :P

Dont forget Mk1 Escorts are RWD and they seem to go round rally stages effortless
