Hello,

I've recently converted my 2003 celica vvti to LPG(Tartarini). So far it's working well and saving me money. However, I recently heard that there may be a problem with the injectors melting on the vvti engine after 40k miles. Does anyone have any further info/advice on this?

Thanks

Hello All,

after, I've installed an ICOM LPG Liquid Injection, and now after 16000Km and 1 year, all it's working without problem.

The car have the same performance as a fluel.

The liquid injection of LPG (Only Icom and Vialle have this type of tecnology as I know) should not

damage the valve on th vvti engine. I'll let you know!!!

Hi, my 190 T-Sport had an LPG injection kit put on at 45,000 miles, it's now just past 130,000 miles. It does have an oiler fitted as an extra which should lubricate the valves slightly. Mines an Italian kit, Alesei software based around one of the more commonly known kits (name escapes me), it's a mid-priced kit. I bought the car about 6,000 miles ago, so far no particular problems, though it's running rich at the moment so I've bought the software to alter it.

It does affect performance slightly, all LPG kits on virtually all cars will. The octane level is lower on LPG, but if you want more performance for a bit, then it's only a flick on a switch to put it on petrol, but then it's costing you double as well! Unless you buy it converted, getting back £2,000 installation costs is going to take a good while. You also get slightly less MPG.

I have a 2001 Celica VVTi 140 and i converted onto LPG too! Ive had a gas car previously and its EXACTLY has described by "THE CHERRY" as in the cars performance is SLIGHTLY affected but it dont bother me, because it can be switched to petrol if you want to. In fact i dont even bother as it really is an insignficant difference. I too have the oiler known as "flash lube", fitted and ive done 12000 miles problem free. I have the BRC kit in mine, which along with PRINS, its supposed to be the best available (so im told, plus research!).

The best advice i could give, is to buy a car ALREADY on gas as the conversion costs aint easy to recover through sheer mileage. I worked it out as over 25000 miles would need to be driven to recover a £1400 conversion!

Hi I am a new comer from Hong Kong, I want to buy a LPG conversion kits from UK for my ZZT231, I want the kit can be manually switching for using LPG or unleaded fuel, any recommendations?

The fuel in HK is really expensive, the fuel company now is selling at UK dollars 1.4 per litre. Thus I am quite sure the conversion is worth for me. The only thing is that such conversion may be not allowed.

Anyway, please help......

This thread started in 2004

The Toyota point of view is that LPG converstions void any form of warranty, the are NOT recommended on Toyota cars, I appreciate your car will not be in warranty but LPG can ruin valves and cylinder heads

Kingo
