Drivers Seat

Has anyone suffered the same things that has just happened to my 2000 Avensis 2.0 SR?

The LHS drivers seat wing seems to have collapsed leaving a flat metal bar protruding. It has not copme through the upholstery but looks unsightly and can cause discomfort when driving. The car has only done 50,000 so it's hardly wear and tear!

Dopes anyone know of a way to remove the seat covers in order to inspect the problem internally?

Thanks for any advice

I have the same problem with my driver's seat. It seems to be just the top half of the seat and the padding has moved sideways revealing the flat metal bar. The bar has not punctured the outer covering of the seat but there are signs of wear in the fabric. I don't find it particularly uncomfortable but now that I have noticed it I can feel it and it is just another one of a growing number of niggles I have with the car.

Any advice on where I could get this repaired would be much appreciated.

This happened to a friends AE82 Corolla GT Twincam back in 1993 so it would appear to be nothing new unfortunately, although never heard of it happening with any other Toyota ...till now, on this thread.
