Hey peeps, I need help wiv ma car man. Sometimes, the right handside of my car is lop sided, sometimes. It's only about half an inch, but is reallllly annoying man!! I got G-max 40mm lower springs fitted, but sometimes its lop sided to the right, but imtermittently. Ne1 else had this problem? I just had the springs checked out, and they are all sitting properly in the seats.

oh dear!

are your shocks ok

no leaks etc....

Posted

Yeah, shox is fine, none of them are leaking at all. I don't know if its the weight of the fuel tank, where I park, whatever, is just a bit wierd seeing the car slightly down on one side, but the thing is, it's not ALL the time tho, just now and again?!?!?

i think i know what you mean cus sometimes i look at mine and think s**t that aint sitting right, it looks like its leaning to the right but i thought that it might be down to when i fitted my koni inserts to the front and i'd :censor: up :ffs:

i honestly don't know ;) try checking all the anti-roll bar bushes

is there any knocking or banging when driving or going over bumps?

Posted

No, knocking sounds to speak off. All the bars/bushes are ok too.

I swear there is something wrong, any professional mechanics on here to help me look :D ha ha.

adjustable panhard rod is what you need...wait for starletsy to come along heknows about this,

when fitting aftermarket springs this happens, something to do with the weight on one side of the car

craig

cheers craig, it just looks so !Removed! leaning on one side..... i hate it!! lol... help help help.

well let's hope my sr doesn't do that eh!?

How the starlets rear trailing arm suspension is set up when you lower it will not sit even until you get an adjustable panhard rod this is due to it puses one wheel close to the arch thats why it's always one that scrubs. These can be got from whiteline.

i've always wondered why only one of my wheels rubs on the arch!!

cheers starletsy!

hey scutch0, are your 40mm pi lowering springs good? are they low? got any pics to show us? and a price of how much yours cost?

Posted

yeah, they're pretty good. as one of my mates said when i first fitted them, "its like being in a little rally car!!"

they're really rock solid, some people dont like that, but others (like me!) think they're spot on. they cost me about £78. sorry no pics yet, trying to get a digital camera sorted + i dont wanna show any one any pics just yet as the cars going in for repair. pics coming soon watch this space!!

shelly

check your handbrake cable, if its tighter on one side then this will cause the car to appear lop sided.

also most roads have camber, which doesn't help.
