T-spirit 2004 Mpg/sat Nav

Gents/Ladies

I have a New Diesel T-Spirit with the colour Sat Nav option. I have had it since June and have put 8000 miles on it. My normal driving mode is Motorway/Dual Carriage way with the Cruise Control set to 80/85 (shhh). Now my problem is with MPG, the Information Screen on the Sat Nav is giving me an ave MPG of about 40, which is very poor, my previous Audi A4 Tdi gave me 49. I have worked it out manually and it seems correct.

Its dues for its 1st service soon and I will be raising it, but has anyone else seen similar problems.

The Sat Nav really annoys me, to go from Glasgow to Perth it insists to trying to send you over the Kincardine Bridge rather than the much quicker M80/M9/A9.

Redordead.

I don't believe the trip computer. On a journey of 190 miles that used about 1/3 of a tank of petrol, it registered 37 mpg but offered a remaining range of only 160 miles! Either the petrol guage is wrong (unlikely because it's about the right amount of fuel for the mileage) or the trip computer doesn't work properly. (I'll report that at the first service.)

The sat nav (TN200) is OK, but the ETA is missing. Has the dealer supplied the wrong CD?

the tdi is a better engine in my opinion than the d4d. i have a tdi and thetoyota diesel and it is better in every area including mpg.

i dont drive as fast a you to work but my display says 47.3 ish (normally) and it is normally correct to within 1 or 2 mpg.

the vw tdi however gives 55+ for the same journies.

i sometimes get 60+ depends where i go other than to work.

In reply to your query about the ETA on the full colour dvd satnav ...

I also have the same as you. What I have found out is that the more expensive full colour dvd version does not have the TMC/ETA unit fitted !! So we pay more for colour but lose the most useful feature.

So I also bought the optional full colour only to be disappointed after paying extra.

I don't know if it is available for the TNS200 unit that is fitted in the Avensis.

I have a T4 D4D with Full Colour Sat Nav, and my MPG says I'm getting between 48 - 50 MPG on a full tank. Most of my driving is on the motorway, although I don't have cruise control. :crybaby:

The ETA now works - it was a blown fuse!!!

The dealer admits that the range will be wrong because it appears that the calculation is updated when you re-fill the tank and based on a previous consumption!
