Brand New Yaris - Rattling Noise

I bought a T Spirit 1.3 4 months ago......absolutely no problems with car until 3 weeks ago when I also noticed a squeaking noise coming somewhere from the rear left of the car, only after an hour of driving and only on certain roads. I checked the seats, windows and the boot but couldnt find the source.

Thought might look stupid going to dealer with this problem so should look at Toyota owners club first....low and behold...its not just me!!

Am going to take it iot to get it sorted....as far as I understand its either the light, the brakes or the seatbelt mechanism.

Its such an annoying noise.....but such a great car!

  • 2 weeks later...

Are the dealership or service center obliged to make sure the squeaking problem is fixed under the warranty? Or can they charge for it?

My local service centre has been pretty crap so far in dealing with problems....so not sure what I can do.

Take it back and kick up a stink, I think they are legally obliged to fix ANY problem no matter how insignificant it may seem!

Mines got a squeak coming from the front driverside wheel, it's a long squeek/squeal aswell. Gotta take her to Toyota soon actually!

Take it back and show them... The car's not meant to do that so it's just not right as it is.

Good luck, because the cars are great (I'm on number 3)
