very much doubt it , even if you could it would run into thousands third party only.

not really worth it , there are quicker cars off the mark to be had anyways.

you will not get insured until your 21 mate. Then it will run into the thousands.

Think your going to have to stick with very low group cars im afraid unless you want to spend about £3000 insuring a 1.6 saxo or something.

Bet insuring that starlet costs you £1500 ish?

Alot of companies said i had to be 25 before they would insure me.  tight gits.

Yeah I had this problem with Churchill, but Norwich Union insured me on my import celica without a problem..

I got my 98 S Reg Celica GT (AC) when i was 18 and had no problems insuring it! :P

Used to cost me £1500 full comp @ 9k value and i had 1yr NCB with no points.

Did you shop around for that? Because you've got royally ripped off! Which company are you with?

I'm 17 and everything in my name, I paid £1,000 with Norwich Union. Most places wouldn't quote me on my car though

I used to insure my ST205 with 300bhp worth of mods with Admiral. Cost me £1800 fully comp with 2yrs NCB. Although i think Elephant would have done it cheaper as i now insure my Supra with Elephant for half that of the GT4

I live right near the town centre of Reading, granted i live on a quiet road in a low crime area but its still smack dab in the centre of the town with a town centre post code. Insurance companies are stupid.

Anyway apart from a few prangs i've been a good boy and kept my licence points free so that probably helps.

Daz,

Just living in Kidsgrove won't help, I'm live in stoke now, and my Insurance shot up when I moved to Stoke. You can also try getting a 1.8ST with a GT bodykit?? Insurance is the main cost with a car these days, You won't get a decent price on a GT till you are well over 22, I am 22 and I looked at getting a GT when I got my 1.8ST and it wasn't worth it (even with a clean record and 3 years NCB) It was still over a grand for TPFT. Just sit back and wait and don't crash (also don't drive round festival park at 90mph cus the cops are supposed to be doing another crack down on people there soon!)

yeah but how slow r the 1.8ST's?

They're not bad, they're nothing amazing, it's the fastest car I've had (which follows a metro 1.1, ford escort 1.6 16V LX, Peugeot 306 DTurbo)

I choose the 1.8ST for quite a few reasons:

1) I've always loved Celicas and always wanted one (the only other car I liked this much was the Supra!)

2) It's got the sport good looks, with only normal consumption and normal insurance

3) I don't get much chance to use any more power than the 1.8 has got driving along the a500 and a50 and through rush hour stoke!

If I want real fast speed I use my motorbike, but for everything else I can't fault the Celica.

You would not be dissapointed with a 1.8, it would be atleast 2 seconds faster 0-60 than your starlet and would have a top speed about 20mph higher

Anyway for a short answer:

I think it does 0-60 in under 9.9 seconds and has a top speed of 124mph

The ST's got the same engine as mine (7A-FE)

Mine will punch out 0-60 in around 9 second's and I've had 115-120 out of fourth, on a used airfield of course  . But that was before my 17's killed my top end, acceleration is around the same :)

*EDIT* My mum's got an SR & I'd kill it in a drag, but I'd much prefer the handling of the SR

bigger wheels increase top end speed and lower accelleration - fact .
