Interior Light & Circuit....

Recommended Posts

Allrate, iev currently got a problem with my interior light as it doesnt work,im guessing its the wiring on the back of the ligh unit as ive check the bulbs,an it doesnt work at all so its not the door contacts,

But the main reason of this post is that ive robbed a couple of suitable push switches which im intending to drill an mount for my boot, this way it will turn on my neons in my boot, also i intend to wire it to the Dome light circuit this way it will be linked to my current sense feature on my alarm. so does anyone know the best place for me to wire a new switch into the circuit,i havent looked properly yet but im hoping to wire it in the same place as the door switch :S

Any ideas???

i have the same problem with my interior light, some times it works, and the all of a sudden... it'll stop working, and its not the bulbs.

unscrew the light unit, remove it from the car, make sure the earth tab isn't corroded, and u'll see that the strips of metal which carry the current to either end of the bulb are riveted through the plastic to a piece of metal the other side.

now flatten out the rivets with a small hammer while its supported on the other side by something hard.

this should give it better contact.

hope it helps.
