Who Can Recommend An Importer 4 Mr2's

Hi,

I am very close to the stage now were I will be purchasing an MR2 GT GTS Turbo Rev3.

What I need with is a finding a good Importer/dealer as ive heard and read horror stories in the past, I am wanting an MR2 that has already been brought in and just ready for sale.

Can anyone recommend a place that they have used or know of that has MR2's in stock, I do not want to be fleeced or taken for a ride, what should I be looking out for in the way of paper/certificate work regarding the cars?

Is there anyone that I should stay well clear of? Ive seen a few dealers on the net and spoke to a few others who all seem good but then I wouldn’t know either way until I get a problem would I?, so any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry about that, not quite sur what I did there, anyway in answer to your question perhaps the most important point is to qualify that the mileage is genuine. If your going to a dealer you really want to go to one who imports direct from Japan as opossed to some of these guys who buy them at UK auctions then flog them on.

If the dealer buys from Japan he should be in possession of the auction sheet- from this you can check the mileage and relate this to the chassic number of your car, it will also give you the auction grading (top right of sheet) although this is not as accurate as it used to be as different auction houses have differering views on what is a grade 4( nice condition) or say a 3 or 3.5 not as nice.

If the car is already registered the paperwork you get will be tha same as any UK car ie mot and registration doc, if not registerd then there should be a de-reg doc from Japan- no dereg doc or uk registration and you have a rather large garden ornament as you won't be able to register it. Also if its less than 10 years old and not registered you'll need an SVA on it and not just an MOT.

Hey I'm glad for you mate So what colour are you looking for mate?? And do you know if the car is in the country now or will you have to wait 6 weeks for the car. I have to wait 6 weeks for mine. But oh the wait was worth while mate.

So just got finished with the deal its now official.

I am going to pick my car up next Friday.

The spec is:

1995 M MR2 GTS Turbo, Caribbean blue with 65K, just had the cam belt changed. Has loads of service history and comes as a grade 4 with completed ESVA conversion paper work.

Ohlins suspension

Blitz turbo timer

Here are a few pictures tell me what you think? Philip's been brilliant very helpful and answered all my questions, this time next week I will have my new baby home.

I have a good drive to get to his location mind you, Im coming from Teesside up the NE of the country, I recon its a 4.5hr drive to Philip's but it will be well worth it.

Once you are there go up a small road driving over large speed humps be careful there my friend. I think it's about the 3rd house on the left hand side once you go around a sharp corner mate. Anyway you will see all the performance cars on the front drive mate
