Is This A Standard Part?

when checking my oil levels etc today...i noticed on my inlet manifold after the 2000 bit is a black tube about 10mm thick going towards the side of the car about 20mm and going into a small block on the side of the manifold....the bit the rubber tube connects to is purple...just a strange colour to have something that would be stock?

is it like a breather pipe? looks to small

If its a plastic clyinder rough dimentions - L-40mm Dia-40mm, then it is stock - I havn't a clue what to does I think its an in line filter for the T-VSV.....but don't quote me.

It's just a filter so the diagnostic box doesnt get any ******* coming from the manifold. Its just the same reason as when you run a vacumn hose from it to a boost gauge you should put the gauge hose going from the diagnostic side of the filter to stop any crap getting to the gauge.
