Rear Speakers

I have the Toyota rear Speakers fitted in my SR and i think it's time they were improved! They get very boomy and un-refined, which i don't like! What i wouldn't mind knowing is... Does anybody know the exact size of the Toyota rear shelf Speakers? And how the hell do you get the covers off of them?? They seem to be riveted to the parcel shelf and so far i have been un-able to prise them off! Anybody got any suggestion/solutions?!

Any help is much appreciated!

I have some 6*9's that I would like to put in my yaris.

Could you please post a picture of what yours look like.

I want to be sure that it will look OK before I start chopping holes in it.

Thanks.

Just drill the rivets out mate and then cut a bigger hole for 6x9's if thats ur bag!

I'm not too bothered about 6x9's, altough they might be quite nice, but i want to keep the toyota speaker covers because they fit the car well and are quite inconspicuous if any light-fingered types peer through the rear window! I was mainly looking to just replace the toyota Speakers with something a bit more substantial... a straight size swap!

Oh, yeah, i had a feeling i'd need to drill the darn things!!! Time to get the old Black & Decker out!!
