cut the drip tray off my n/a lid other than a bit to cover the dizzy as i figure a small spread of rain drips causes less problems than the flow of water the drip tray directs at the alternator.

Never noticed the number of 'knackered alternator' and 'squeeky alternator belt' posts :) ?

Me too about three months ago...coincidently after it was left for 10 days while I was holiday and we had some of the wettest weather for years... :o

Maybe he has a point.....
