Tyre Wear

Hi Guys

After reading all your advice on what tyres to get, 3 months ago I purchased a full set of Goodyear GSD-3s.

Last week the Supra had to go in for it's MoT, and the rear tyres were barely legal, so in 3 months they had gone bald. The car isn't thrashed overly hard, and has only done about 3000 miles or so in that time.

Has anyone else had an issue with these tyres? I've just put on some Michelin Pilots on the rear now to see if they are harder. They seem to be offering better grip so I'm happy with the replacements, but I'm not impressed at having to buy a new set of rear tyres every 3 months.

I've just fitted Eagle F1's to the front and the rears should be coming this week.

The Supra MK4 does wear the inside of tyres down quickly, thats why im getting the camber changed to the Lance W setup.

Means they dont wear the inside out at all and the guy claims his bridgestones lasted 24k on this setup

I had a look at that link from a related post of yours Leeky. Only problem is, I don't know of a garage round here that can do that work that I would trust... take it it's not a Kwik Fit/ATS job.....

Toyota happily re aligned my soarer tracking/camber to my spec, even though it was different to the toyota spec!

they even gave mea print out for the alignment of each wheel, before and after the work.. all for £50!

Blimey, did you have to leave it with them or did they do it while you wait?

I wont leave the supra with anyone, especially after the pooftas at coxon went racing my st205 after its service :censor:

Talking of which, where was the Toyota garage you used? Wasnt Coxon was it?

Don't suppose anyone knows of a decent garage in my area (Leeds/Halifax/Rochdale kind of area) that could do this?

Should I take it to the Toyota garage and ask them to do it?

I have just booked mine in for it at my local Toyota Main Dealer. £49.99 for all 4 wheels being adjusted to the Lance W alignment and also they are going to change all the bolts on my subframe :D (although i have got to pay for the new bolts)
