Water Injection And Co2 Spray Rail

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of buying the Aquamist Water Injector system sometime early next year.

The way I understand the system to work is like this:

1) When first injected into the intake it's absorbs alot of the heat energy, whilst only raising in temperature slowly, so the intake is initialy cooled.

2) The water then starts to evaporate, as water has is very latent high, it's change of state also absorbs alot of heat, so the IC is cooled even further

3) Finally, when the remaining water droplets and vapour reach the combustion chamber, steam is produced. That acts as an anti-detonant.

So to my undertanding a CO2 spray rail attached to the IC should cool it down even further.

Would this be anymore beneficial?

thanks in advance

Stuart. :)

there are 3 position to put whater injection:

1 before IC

2 in IC

3 before throtle body

each of them have benefits and negativities...

i will not now explain each of them ( hot tub is waitin' )

best is by creon cooling intake, IC and fuel rail ( CO2 cooling ) and injection before throtle body to prevent of detonation and to make inside of intake cold air, becopuse creon will only make borders of intake cold, not the complete air in intake cold, espetial in higher rpms

Speak to Bibbs mate. I think he has this system on his car.

I know he has water injection of some sort. You're better off speaking to him.

CO2 systems always sprey at the intercooler I thought? (you'd not want it in the engine! they use so2 to put fires out!) compressed gas excaping naturally gets far colder (one of the reasons n20 makes cars go faster ;)) sprey c02 at an intercooler long enough and it will get covered in a white frost layer!

as for positioning the water injection I'm not sure...

I'm going to set up an N20 purge valve to spray my intercooler at some point :)

I think people have mis-read this topic. :bookworm:

What I am asking if I run the two systems together would that work even better or would it be to much?
