is the 1mz out of a camry? whats the engine code for the toyota solara. i think thats the strongest toyota v6 out...

It'll be the camry V6, ideally one out of a '97.

The UK never got a manual V6 though - scuppered my plans.

The V6 is only 191 bhp, but TRD do a bolt on SC. and the V6 torque and burble would be loverly.

Getting a bit popular now though, so I'm thinking of other things ..

Paul Woods (the chap behind the first MK1 Turbo in the UK) on IMOC has done this to Phil Tucks MR2 NK2. Excellent in my opinion

Paul Woods has almost finished putting put the Camry V6 into a Mk1, the engine mates up to the Mk2 Turbo gearbox. You need to source a manual flywheel and a few other bits and bobs

There's aguy in the states who's somehow managed to squeeze a Northstar V8 into a Mk1!

I didnt want to Mention the V6 in the lil MK1 as wanted to keep it a surprise...did you know he is trying to attach a CT20b turbo onto it.:eek::eek::help::lol::lol::thumbsup:

Yeah I'd heard that  , but he says he'd like to find out what she's like n/a before boosting!

One of the V6 Mk2s in the states has been supercharged but I don't think any have been turbo'd yet.

He's sold his turbo MK1.5, I'd have bought that in a shot if I'd had the money!

Unfortunate.......

That is unlukcy for the guy who bought. Only owning it for two weeks and the engine

then blowing. I know what the feels like :( . The worst part for him now will be the waiting to get it back on the road :( .

Thats unfortunate to say the least!

Bit silly of the guy to keep driving with no oil pressure!

Glad I didn't buy it, it's a long way to Pauls garage! :D I think I'll stick with my 4AGTE.

There's abloke called Bill Strong in the US who is in the process of shoehorning a 4.6 litre Cadillac Northstar V8 4.6 litre into a Mk1. His Website makes an interesting read - not anywhere complete yet but he's trying.
