Hi kevin, been trying 2 pm u but no joy keeps commin up with errors...

yes i did recieve them and thank, ive actually been meaning to pm you or give u a call, been having a few issues with the alloys

I originally fitted the alloys withought the spigot rings as i hadnt recived them and didnt realise i was going 2 either, and had experienced no issues, even took out on dual carriage way and no noticalble change under high speeds..

However since fitting the spigot rings, at high speeds there is a lot of vibration, and at certian periods the stering wheel will really shake, this i have never noticed before.. at times it almost feels like the alloys are wobbelling, i have also noticed that under acceleration the car will now pull to the left, but only when accelerating!!

I have checked nuts and are fully tightend, but have noticed that the washers do still move, now mayb this could be causing some issues that mayb even tho my nuts are fully tightend they may not be apply enough presure and still allowing slight movement under the tuf presure of high speed??

i tried fiting the news nuts but my wrench didnt seem to grip them, so slightly confused as to what could be cuasing all the problems.. my house mate and i are going to have another look at spigot rings to see if fitted correctly and to see if can notice anything else, and will have another go at fitting the new nuts at the weekend.

Dont suppose you or any1 reading this could think of anythin which may be casing this!!

Charlie

Hi Chuck, you should use the nuts that were provided and not the orginal nuts as the new nuts have a coned shape which helps centre the wheel. Did you push the spigot rings into the centre of the holes on the alloy wheels? Were they a good fit?

I am pretty sure the problem will go away when the new nuts are fitted. If not give me a call and I will tell you what else to check as a problem like this will be solved by a process of elimination.

Thanks

Kevin

I had this when i fitted some tsw pace alloys to my old escort

Cause was the spigot was a very tight fit on the hub and although the nuts were on tight enough one of the front wheels wasn't sitting flush with the hub

Try taking them of and refitting them

Hope you get it sorted

did you get the car tracked and balanced after fitting the wheels?

You don't get the car balanced mate you get the wheels balanced!

When I fitted my alloys I never had my tracking done so I doubt it is that, its probably because of the nuts you are using!

P.S. Get your wheels balanced aswell!
