Thanks to all for the tips this past weekend on replacing my thermostat.....my overheating issues are solved!

The problem is I think I created a new problem (damn I such an auto repair newbie)

My 92 paseo (5EFE) now has a gas pedal that seems stuck when I first try to accelerate from a stop (automatic trans).

There seems to be some resistance as if there were something underneath the pedal preventing me from depressing it (there isn't though I checked).

The car pulls away really slow, sputtering all the way, and the RPMs fluctuate up and down pretty rapidly.

Once the car gets moving the problem subsides however if I take my foot off the gas all the way even at higher speeds, when I go to accel again the sticking is sometimes there.

What could be causing this.........I was looking at the throttle body(?) where the two cables are attached and I can manually move it back and forth pretty easily, and when the car is off, and in neutral, I don't have any problems pushing pedal all the way down.

My concern is that I just replaced the thermostat, and I had to work around some cables that I don't think I bent but that I did move around. One of these cables leads to the throttle body (cable on the right side looking at the engine from front of car). Could any minor movement cause this problem? Or is my concern with the other cable......or something else entirely?

If any one can help it would be appreciated.........and sorry for the lack of know-how by me in this post.
