I will be ordering the fascia of toyota soon but im not sure if my yaris is phase 1 or 2. It has no fog lights in the front bumper just the mesh grill and it is an 03' 5 door model so which is it? I will then drag my down to the dealership and part with 50quid and another 20ish for the autoleads bit but what a rip off!!!

Oh no i didnt install it myself just the head unit :crybaby:

Looking at the Toyota radio and the rear lights, it’s a phase 1

On the face lifted model the radio/CD buttons are squarer and the rear lights on the phase 2 are dark red and you are unable to see the reversing light like on your picture.

Also you have the phase 1 rear bumper.

Just out of curiosity.. Where does the power cable run for the Amp? I know it's gotta be connected to the Battery, but how's it get there? It's probably blindingly obvious, but hey ho!

Open bonnet..

search for a rubber gromit at the.. at the.. at the.. oh damn whats it called?..at the .. ****

Well wherever it is. By there!

Push cable through, should pop up in passenger side at the back of the glove box, pull through completely.

Run under sill protectors, they just pop off.

Run up and through rear passenger side bits, tuck away all visible cable

Cheers! I had a feeling ther'd be a hole, but where is it? I ask because i asked a place near me about fitting costs and the guy said the Yaris is a tricky one for running cables, especially to the Battery, and wanted to charge £80 for fitting! I simply thought... You're having a giraffe!

<splutter> eighty funking pounds sterling?

Open the bonnet, look straight over the Battery, till you touch the front/end of engine bay.. and down a bit (fumble round til you touch a gromit, imagine it on the opposite side of the passegers glovebox).

If I could draw a pic, it would be aroound....... there <points on picture>

Will take a photo later, unless someone can explain..(?)

yeah the grommet directly behind the Battery, the big round rubber thing, its double skinned, no push a penknife through it. then use your special yaris tool for feeding the cable down into the passenger footwell. this tool can usually be found ontop of the yaris. its called the airel. tape the cable to it, ram it down through the cut, taking care to get it through both holes ( + obviously pointing down towards the footwell). reach up behind the glovebox + pull it down, then please yourself what you do with it. + dont make the cut too big, it wont help.
