Wet Weather Driving....

Anyone noticed how difficult it is to pull away in the wet weather with a Gen 7 Celica? I seem to wheel spin a lot of the time (or if I drop the revs I seem to stall)

Yet when I'm moving the grip seems to be awesome. Best car I driven for rounding corners in the wet.... (next to a 2.0 GLS Sierra which had superb rear wheel drive)......

It could of course just be my :censor: Clutch control.....

Just be thankful its not an mr2 :D

Seriously though. Because the car is front wheel drive, when you pull away the momentum transfers the weight off the front wheels and pushes it towards the back of the car. Thus reducing the weight on the front end, and in turn reducing the amount of grip from the tyres. Could be your clutch control as well though. You need to find a balance. :D

The tyres are alot to do with this the PZeros on the stock gen 7 are not very good at gripping in the wet, more of a dry tyre, get Toyo Proxes or F1's alot better

Lol here in Matlock (derbys) the weather was evil. Loads of snow so I was very very worried about going out in my car (previous ones i didnt care they were crappy fessies!)

Thing is I was coping amazingly well with the hillss/snow whereas everyone else (even in 4x4s) were stopping and not doing it. I just took it very steady and managed to get to work and back!!!

The hill I went up and down had 8 cars dumped on it cos they bottled it lol!

Wonder what they`re like in the snow? You`ll have to let me know. Reckon you`ll find out before me. Last time it snowed down here was the last ice age i think.

poo fwd. nothing much can be done mate. just put up with spinning starts, though good tyres and suspension will hold their own in the wet. never looked back since going AWD.
