Motor Knocks

i have a 2001 toyota tacoma i bought about 3 year ago. here recently when i crank it up in the mourning the motor knocks really damn loud. i take back to the dealer ship and tell them the problem and they say its normal. i get ****** off more and more every time i here it. They say it becase the oil takes time to get pumped up. but if that was true it would have done it when bought the truck. but it just started doing about 4 months ago. lucky it still under warrenty but the dealer ship just jacks around not wanting to fix the problem. i dont understand how it is normal for a motor to knock when you crank it up. i dont know of any other vehicle that does that in the mourning. if it just because it takes oil a while to pump up then they should put me a damn better oil pump in it. i"ll be damned it i gonna wait till the warrenty goes out and the motor blows up and stuck paying for a truck with a blowed motor . if theres any body out there with the same damn problem reply back

Take it to an independent garage and ask them to examine it and give you a detailed report of anything that may be wrong. Then go back to the dealership you bought it off and see what they say. If they still wont play ball....... Sue them.

Could be your oil filter. They usually have a non return valve to stop all the oil draining out. When these valves were first introduced, they were nontoriously unreliable, I'm not sure how much better modern ones are.

Your safest bet is to make sure you use genuine Toyota filters, if they can't get it right, who else can?
