Just Completed Halo 2 On Easy... The Ending?

Please tell me the game doesn't end like that on the harder settings!...

I dont want to know the end of the other settings.. but just want to know if i am to expect something different..

by the way.. its a quality game!.. love the plot.. and how you have 2 sides of the story in the game as you control a character in both of the sides..
