Granvia Service Requirements

:D Hello everyone, i'm a new member to this forum and hope someone may be able to help.

I bought a 1997, 3.0ltr diesel 4wd Granvia from a commercial dealer 6 months ago. Love the car and no problems so far, although I am only averaging approx. 19 mpg - used mainly round town so far.

I took out an option to extend the suppliers warrenty by a further 24 months, as I was a little nervous about buying an Import for the first time.

I have just bought the english translated version of the handbook from jpnz.co.nz unfortunately no information is given as to what the sevice requirements are.

It is a requirement of the warrenty that I have the vehicle serviced regularly in accordance with the Manufactures recommendations by a recognised Garage.

Can anyone let me know what the service requirements are?

At present the vehicle is our second vehicle and we use it only occasionally to ferry our rather large family around (only done 1200 miles in 6 months so far). Naturally I don't want to be paying out unnecessarily for items that do not require replacing, especially whilst my mileage remains so low.

By the way the group is really useful, learnt about tyre pressures and air conditioner filter replacements, etc.

My vehicle had a Sat. Nav. system that was removed prior to me collecting the vehicle. I have still got the bag of tricks but assume that it would be no good unless I had a European version of the route DVD or something similar. If I have it connected up will I be able to use the system to play DVD on the 5 inch colour monitor that pops out from the dashboard?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

regards

Ian E

Welcome Ian

As you may have guessed the Granvia's are a little new as yet to the UK, so even basic info is hard to come by - I too need the service info (the dealer I bought mine from is supposed to be finding out for me - I will post if it ever appears).

Your MPG is worse than mine, but then mine is worse than Raymundo's! (as far as I can tell - more data needed).

RE your removed Sat Nav box - I would be interested to have a poke about with it out of curiosity should you want to get rid of it, but it will never be anything more than a cd/Radio/Cassette player (it pre-dates DVD by a few years) in the UK.

I do have a copy of the Japanese market EPG on my PC, so if you need part numbers just ask.

Cheers

Kevin
