Wind Noise From Air Vents

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

Well i have had my mr2 turbo for nearly 5 weeks now. And i have noticed that once i go over say 50mph i get a whistling sound coming from the air vents. Well from the left and right vent's. But once you go below 50mph the sound stops???

I wondering what brought this on. Perhaps leaves in the air vents. But i dont think so as it's in the garage everyday. I only drive it say twice a week really. So why has it all of a sudden got this whistling sound from

Does anyone know of a possible reason!!!!

Jerry are you sure it's from the vents & not the tweeter covers, as the 2

as a fault with the door mirrors whistling through the covers.

I had the same problem.

You need some rubber grubs, there cheap as chips and are simple to put on. :)

Well then :D

What it is 99 % of the time is that the seal on the door mirrors gives up.

You need to take them of to reseal them..

Which is easier said then done as the screws have a glue on them :!Removed!:

you need to heat them up with a hairdrier before you can take them out.

new ones form MR T cost pennies so get new ones as there are only 3 holding the mirror on :!Removed!: which is cheaper then locktite. then you can use any s/sealer :thumbsup:

Hope this helps.
