Starlet Gt - Ep 82 '95

Hey guys, my headlights have gone on my starlet gt '95 and its not the bulbs or fuses from what i can see - I still have full beam and side lights but no main head lights.

I dont have a manual so I dont know where the fuse (or is it one of those larger fuse box type things?) is exactly located anyway but I have checked every one I can see but to no avail. Should I go to a specialist garage for this - as I'm sure I'd be ripped off. If anyone knows where the fuses is exactly or anything else would perhaps save me time and money, cheers.

If it is the headlamp unit thats gone FUBAR you should be able to get new ones from a Toyota Dealer :)

ok, for starters has you car got a separate bulb for the normal dipped beam? if not, the headlight bulb should look something like this...

(u've probably already tried this but its worth saying)

if your bulb looks something like this, remove the bulb and have a look at the filements, there are 2, if one looks a bit dodgy (sometimes they wont appear broken or blown) then replace it and try that

if it still doesn't work i don't know about the ep82 but the headlight fuses on the ep91 are in a separate small fuse box on the passenger side just behind the headlight. i think they're marked which ones which on the inside of the cover on mine.
