Where To Get Toyota Starlet 1300 Rwd Engine?

anyone have any ideas, never been able to get any parts in breakers yards, let alone a good 1300

i bought a perfect 1300 with anc for £26 on eBay. i put it in m y mates starlet and he sold it for £50!!! the whole car!!! so there are idiots out there who will sell you a 1300 cheap. apparently nova engines go in on a starlet box, needs a conversion plate, the guy that bought my mates one does this he reckons.

Go for a nice and simple 1300 FORD crossflow & G,box plenty around and loads of tuning goodies or go the whole hog with a 1600 bored to +90 with head, cam, etc 110HP with twin choke or 140HP on twin 40 dcoe's..

Good shout Gixerboy, or you could slap in a 4AGE! Bolts straight onto a starlet box suppossedly! Now that would be fun! Might want to uprate a few other things first tho! :)

why the desperation for a 1300 cc ? get a 1200 cc high lift the cam and shave a bit off the head. better still find a twin carb 1200 cc - it has all the work ready done. If you are looking for racing bits I have loads of stuff, 4.1 ;1 diffs complete back axles, 4 by 110 mm half shafts, 12" wheels to fit, oh and a couple of 1200 units. phone me 0793 201 4704 Alan

Does it have to be a 1300 engine? You can use the 5k engine (1500) from the old toyota liteace vans, bolt straight in and are a step up from 1.3

Does it have to be 1300 cc?

Is it for racing ? If so may I suggest an alternative?

I have two 1200 cc std engines which could be for sale. I also have a spare 1200 cc twin carb high comp engine - more HP than your 1300 cc and can get my hands on another one>

Sorry guys but it does not slap straight onto a starlet gearbox which is a K series box. I t will slap straight onto a T series box as found in 1600 Corollas.
