Carina E Headlamps

Replacing the main headlamp bulbs on a Carina E is the worst and most fiddly I've come across - on one side the radiiator expansion tank has to be moved out of the way, on the other the Battery really restricts access unless you have very small hands. I'm the world's worst mechanic (see other posts) but surely this was an oversight. Is it better on other Toyotas?

Ahhhh yes, I've spent many hours laughing at Nick trying to remove the headlights to get to the bulbs, even more fun on the rear lights!

The radiator expansion tank comes of very easy! Just slide it upwards and its gone. Near the Battery is a bit more difficult, but still doable. Take for instance the New Beetle you can't do it yourself, it has to be done by the dealer. First they have to remove the bumper and then the headlampunit to be able to replace the bulb. Unfortunatly this is no exception in newer carmodels. Everybody wants to get bigger engines in the same space thus leaving less room for other components.

If you ever have the chance look at an Audi S4 with the V8 under the bonnet, and imagine working on that engine!
