Toyota Carina Engine Management Light

Hi,

I have just bought a Carina 1.6 GLi. It's a 94 M with 114000 miles and FSH from new. It's a lovely car in immaculate condition but the engine management light has come on. I took it to my local Toyota dealership and they have informed me that it requires an oxygen sensor replacement. They quoted me £250.

I bought the car as a second vehicle and don't want to spend huge amounts of money on it.

Is there anyone who can offer advice on a quick fix or some way round the problem?

it shouldn't be too bad a job to DIY, just make sure you give it several good soaks of WD40 to ease it off first.
