Hilux/4runner Recalls

:ffs: :censor: Can anyone advise me on the recall for weak link arms on the hilux range. Read it on a forum website, went to my main dealer and was basically told to go forth and multiply! I know its an import but are we really expected to return the vehicle to Japan to get it honoured? He seems to think so, but then he also thought it was fashionable to wear a cheap gold looking chain on the outside of his shirt and tie.....classy dealer chic I take it!

Also does anyone know what the tiny red button just in front of the gear shift is for? I've pressed it a few times (probably shouldn't have) and am disappointed to find it isn't a james bond style ejector seat!

Apart from that (and the rear screen not rising when turning the key - only operational from inside!) I love this car!

The recall does not seem to be a serious problem, saying that I do think that as Toyota are an international company that they should honour the recall in whatever country the vehicle ends up in.

The red button is pressed if you need to move the gear selector when the engine is off and the keys have been removed, like when working on the vehicle and the Battery is disconnected.
