Bristol Garages

Hi everyone!!!

I have moved down bristol to teach and have no idea where to put my car in for its service, any quality toyota/japanese car specialists in the bristol area???

Obviously the cheaper and the higher quality of workmanship the better.

Also have a tyre question which i seen was alluded to in a previous post...I have 17's on and have 205/40/17 tyres on both front and rear, would it be beneficial to have wider tyres on the rear????

Any advice would be welcome, cheers!!!!!

If you see a family having a nice picnic in a field, with a pond, you plough the family into the field, fill in the pond, you blow up the tree and use the leaves to make a dress for your wife who's also your brother.

:D :D :D :D

Ah right, thought there might be!!!!

I was thinking more along the lines of independent garages, toyota dealers just don't float my boat

I've had good work done on both my old MR2 Mk1 and my Supra at “Coronation Road Garage” in Bedminster (just south of City Centre). At first chosen primarily because it was about the closest garage to where I work but now I've been there a few times I trust them not to shaft me, I've been happy with their work and they're also very reasonably priced.

I plan to use them again now I have a Mk2 but haven’t been there with it yet. I remind you though that this is just a random garage – it doesn’t claim to be a specialist with sports or jap cars or anything.

I’m sure there are loads of specialist places around if you need them – just take a look on Google.

Other places I’ve been to here are Pro-Tyres, who are about as good as they come if you're looking at wheels/tyres/steering/laser alignment etc (just East of the City Centre). There's also a very good place in Clevedon (one stop down M5) called "South West Tyres" who have a good selection of alloys and tyres and great deals.

For ICE there's BT Uplands on Gloucester Road. Tuning and specialists etc I've not yet needed to look for so can't help you with them I'm afraid. Only time I've had anything odd needed done I went to the Toyota at Patchway and got their customary huge bill.

Try asking on www.tatsucarclub.co.uk, they are bristol boys. The club is only for performance jap cars, so you should be welcome there :meet:

Cheers everyone :)

I drive past coronation garage every day so they are definitely a possibility, will give them a ring and ask them to fix me up with some prices for servicing and a few other bits and pieces.

Like everyone don't want to get shafted so your advice is definitely appreciated!!!
