Paseo Help Blown Engine

The engine lost compression in 1&3.

Looking at the FTSH the head gasket was replaced at toyota less than 10k miles ago. Unsure as to what caused this and unsure what didnt get sorted properly at the time - %$( the engines only done 70k or thereabouts.

So, rather than pull it apart, I was wondering who can please confirm which other engines are a fit and will they match up to the tranny box. I can get another engine dropped in for £100 by the lad a couple of workshops along from me where i work - just gotta source one.

And, got any links to suppliers. dont particulary want to get an engine from a breakers, cos cars in breakers are there for a reason - theyre broken!!.

i got my engine from a breakers! and i have had no problems with mine, had it about 6 mouths now!

Hey. I got an engine. Its a 5E-FHE one tho which is about 10 BHP more than the one in the paseo's

The only problem i got with my engine is the valve timing needs adjusting or it needs the tappets sorted out.

Or i have another engine where the Head is fine on it. If you took the head of my old engine and the bottom of the new one put them together it would make a fine engine.

The Newer one has only covered 32000 miles.

Im looking for arround £400 but you would have to arrange pickup.

thanks for the offer, but a straight engine swap is cheaper than getting the guy to swap heads over.

loads of paseos in the breakers now, mostly cos of accidents, should be able to get one for around 250

Hello mate, sorry to hear about your motor. You could always try API Engines who specialise in japanese motors. Whereabouts in the NE are you cos there's also a breakers in Boro that does jap only, can't remember name off hand though <_<

While you're waiting for the new engine to arrive, polish the rocker cover on the old one. They come up looking really smart. Then swap it over to the new engine.
