Is This Just In The Usa?

what you need to realise is that the Americans see 'Hatchbacks' just above moss - and to drive a car with one will destroy your reputation for life...

Thats why most cars are saloons, and Toyota sell the Echo (Yaris) and Corolla with a boot (trunk) rather than hatch...

It appears to be a sedan/saloon version of the current Corolla. Plus of course it has a bodykit and other items.

Anyone else any ideas

Really????

Have you seen some of the PoS that they peddle as 'automobiles'...

To be honest, I'd trust the Russians on cars before the Americans!!!

Just what are you trying to say??? :P

I have quite a huge dislike for the majority of hatchbacks, unfortunately my current budget does not allow much choice. Some day soon all will be back to normal though B)

I beg to differ, I have just come back from Florida and saw many hatchbacks including alot more Tsports (usa version) than I have in UK, We also saw lots of Ford Focus exactly same as in UK.

We had a Caddilac Esculade, very nice car, very big very thirsty, very all electrical and automatic very boring to drive on very straight roads

Err ...I think America has always led the world for car styling. Take the 50's and 60's Yank Machinery, this was the influence on European Car design. Just look at the styling of a Vauxhall Cresta, Ford Zodiac, Simca Aronde, Opel Kapitain etc. Also in later years look at a 1970'S Toyota Celica Fastback, Toyota themselves admitted they took the styling idea from a Ford Mustang and scaled it down.

As for Russia ...they've made some very trustworthy machinery. The early range of GAZ vehicles were very durable such as the GAZ M1 and VOLGA 21 series

I wish we had some of the Toyota styles that you have in Europe. It seems we always get the dull looks of makes like Honda/Toyota/Ford?etc..... Does anyone know why this is? I will try and upload my 2003 Toyota Corolla S to show you what I mean by the way mine looks compared to the ones you have. Stay tuned...

Hang on there guys  You people have some stylish cars of your own and have done for many years. Your country created the Pontiac Firebird, Dodge Charger, Chevy Camero and Ford Mustang (The new 'retro' style Mustang is ace  ) with cars like those I don't think you need to be concerned with the styles of Europe  .

Let the Good times roll! B)

There are no Corolla T Sports here in the U.S. We have just recently gotten (for the 2005 model year) the Corolla XRS saloon, which is a bit watered down from the European T-Sport (170 bhp versus 192 bhp). The Toyota Corolla Matrix only comes with the 170 bhp 2ZZ-GE in XRS models, not in base or XR form.

The Focus here is a bit different from the UK model too... different lights and bumpers, only came with a myriad of 2.0 engines. Now, they have completely different fascias from UK models. Oh, and of course, the US models have been plagued with safety recall after safety recall for problems the European-built models don't have (i.e., airbags going off when they shouldn't and not when they should, electrical malfunctions, front suspension collapses, rear suspension separates completely from the car.... a friend of mine had the rear susp. problem with his, almost killed him and his brother)...

I, personally, do not partake in the American choices of personal transport... The best-selling vehicle in the country is the range of Ford F-Series trucks (my dad drives a 2001 F-350 with a 7.3-litre turbodiesel V8, a vehicle that is 6.65 metres in length, yet will only seat 6)... Americans' taste in vehicles is questionable at best... people commute to and from work in vehicles that get 12 mpg UK... go figure... I would like to see mainstream diesel vehicles make their way into the US market (I really want a 2.0 D-4D engine for my '93 Corolla)... I'll shut up now...

Man, you are so correct! Don't shut up! Let them aswell hear you.

I also live in a big country. And I think that is part of the problem. I'm still a student, and all my friends drive cars like Corolla sedan and stuff. I'm the only one with a hatch, let alone 3d. They all say it's a stupid car to buy. Yesterday a friend came up to me and said "the other day I drove an Audi A8L 4.2. Great car". And i say: "cool, but don't you feed like a hired driver when you ride it?" and he replied: "of course not, it's a cool car, no 3d ****, like yours or the cts" (he knows i like the cts).

What more? can you say???

Also same problem with many good hot versions no arriving here. No fiat, seat. Ford focus st170 costs like $5000 more than the cts here... No Focus RS. No Celica, and so on...

And those Ford F-something trucks. That's just :censor: . Especially if you live in the city and you need it just to do downtown everyday. Great buy!
