Legislation already in place in Italy and Spain and due next year in France and Germany will require all drivers to wear a reflective jacket if they have to leave an immobolised vehicle on the carriageway at night or in poor vivsibility. Failure to do so will result in a fine and the proposed amount in France is €138.

Its also illegal in most European countries NOT to have a full spare bulb kit in your car..

If the police stop you for having a light out, and you cannot repair it on the spot, you can be fined quite a large amount!
