De-icer Q's....

Well, had the first Ice over the car this morning (luckily bought de-icer 2 days ago....

Now it's fine on the windows etc etc but had a thought driving into work this moning after de-icing the car (with the top down :D :D :D)....

Is De-Icer safe to use on them plastic screen on the roof of the MX-5 ro would I better just using water on that part ???

I know it sounds daft but i like to de-ice it before i take it down :D :D :D

Should say on the back of the can mate? I just use luke warm water..

Going well although already feel it needs more power....

Also already bumped the bomex nose and had a muppet reverse in the back although the back bumper scratch isn't to bad :)....

De-icer isn't usually recommended for plastics, etc. Best to not risk it,

Avoid using de-icer at all times mate

On the can it does say to thoughorly (sp?) clean off paint work/avoid spraying directly onto paintwork) - so IMO, it can only be good for glass.

I always use a scraper (or C/Card if I don't have a scraper - looks like you're chopping out lines on your windscreen though ) even on my company vehicles.

De-icer is very bad for cars. I just use warm water from a plant waterer (the spayer mthingy jobby)

Start her up, heaters on full blast. Leave to simmer for 5 minutes. Job's a good'un

wimp :) there's no need for a heater, just a jumper and a fleece :) do get some bizarre looks at 7am with the roof off though....

Anyone else noticed that if you have a t-bar/convertible there is nothing like driving with the roof off when it's dark :D

can't beat the feeling but the heaters are a must - -feels so fresh but not freezing.

I'm going to get another one next year
